Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (SciENcv) is an online tool in the My National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) platform that allows researchers to create funder specific biosketches that can be used when submitting grant applications or annual reports. Requested by the Federal Demonstration Partnership, SciENcv was developed collaboratively by the NCBI and an interagency workgroup, with the aim to reduce administrative burden associated with federal grant submission and reporting requirements.
What
With SciENcv you can:
- Create biosketches using funder specific templates such as NSF, NIH, and IES
- Save time by entering information once, and reuse in multiple biosketches
- Pre-populate a biosketch using information imported from ORCID, eRA Commons, or NSF
- Assigned a delegate to manage your SciENcv biosketches
- Keep all your biosketches in one place
- Export your biosketch as a PDF or XML
- Make biosketches public or private
When
Use SciENcv to create correctly formatted biosketches for grant applications and annual reports. NSF requires that biosketches be created by either using SciENcv or an NSF created fillable PDF.
How
Navigate to SciENcv and choose a desired login type. Users can log-in using an NSF (UT Dallas Single Sign-on), ORCID (UT Dallas Single Sign-on), or NIH account and more.
Data Security & Compliance
SciENcv is secure and complies with UT Dallas policy BP3096.
Funder Requirements for Biosketches
Effective October 5, 2020, NSF requires biographical sketches to be submitted in the format that is generated by SciENcv.
